Kay Crotty PhD MCSP

Practice Lead
Specialties: Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction: continence and pelvic pain; Ultrasound imaging bio-feedback; Visceral Manipulation

Kay began her physiotherapy career in the musculoskeletal arena having undertaken post graduate training both in the UK and Canada. She established Physiolink in 1990. Building on her spinal background she diversified into Pelvic Floor Muscle Dysfunction and is now one of the leading physiotherapists in this field in the UK. She  completed a programme of research investigating pelvic floor exercises in collaboration with The University of Hertfordshire and Northwick Park and St Mark’s Hospitals. Kay has published and presented her research internationally and in Spring 2008 was awarded the prize for best scientific presentation at the annual conference of CSUK (Continence Society UK). Her doctoral degree was awarded in June 2014.

Karen Barkshire MCSP MAACP

Specialties: Hand and Wrist Injuries, musculoskeletal, acupuncture, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Pelvic floor

Karen has a wealth of experience having been working as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist since 1991. She has been a Physiolink team member since 1998. She previously held a senior position in a hand clinic and continues to use the skills acquired there as our lead hand therapist including bespoke splinting. She has a strong manual therapy and acupuncture base as well as an interest in pelvic floor management  She uses a progressive exercise approach for patients with vestibular dysfunction.

Susan Pearson MCSP Cert Occ Health MAACP APPI

Specialties: Studio- based postural/muscle imbalance training, Post-op /injury rehab, Clinical Pilates, Occupational Health, Hypermobility Syndrome

Sue joined Physiolink in 2010 to develop our rehabilitation service using our new studio. She has wide ranging experience having worked in the NHS including several years at Stanmore RNOH; the Old Albanian Rugby Club and in industry and private practice. She holds a post graduate Diploma in Occupational Health  and holds full accreditation for Clinical Pilates and acupuncture. Her rehabilitation expertise has developed over many years of gym based work that has been built on her already firm exercise ethos. She is expert in reintroducing patients with hypermobility syndrome, back pain and postural dysfunction to exercise via her clinical Pilates classes. New for 2014 are pelvic floor classes. She screens and conditions all patients before starting group work in order to maximise safety and success. Sue also practices needle acupuncture for headaches, spinal and other joint pains.

Rosalind Sandys MCSP

Specialties: The Elderly Spine, Deep Tissue Mobilisation

Rosalind has a wealth of experience in spinal and soft tissue techniques having graduated in 1981 as a Physiotherapist. She took up her first post at The Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where she gained intensive experience in all areas of trauma, especially orthopaedics and neurological rehabilitation. She moved to London to work at University College Hospital where her interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy developed and during which time she provided physiotherapy to local rugby teams and health clubs. She has attended numerous postgraduate courses with an emphasis on deep tissue mobilisation. She has developed a passion and affinity for treatment of the elderly patient, with an emphasis on the degenerative spine and lower limbs. She has been a member of the Physiolink team since 1997.

 

Sarang Bobhate MSc MCSP

Specialities : Spinal, Shoulder Dysfunction, Sports Injuries

Sarang holds a Masters Degree in Applied Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University. He gained valuable experience by working as both a Junior and Senior Physiotherapist in a multi specialty hospital with a wide caseload including musculoskeletal, sports injuries, cardio respiratory, neuro physiotherapy and intensive care. He has worked extensively on 4 research programmes with 2 published research articles. He joined the Physiolink team in September 2010. He is a reflective practitioner and is always eager to learn new skills. He is committed to the evidence base and to continual professional development and strives to deliver best care to his patients.

Harry Rana MCSP

Specialities : Spinal pain and management

Since qualifying from King’s College London in 2005 Harry has worked in various private clinics and NHS settings including The Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust, a large Lonfon teaching hospital, where he specialised in Neuromuscular Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has gained valuable experience rehabilitating patients of all ages and abilities using his unique blend of hands on therapy, acupuncture, individualised exercise prescription and education to maximise recovery and of acute and chronic pain. Harry has gained much of his experience in orthopaedic management whilst working with internationally remowned consultants and has a special interest in spinal pain and management.Harry is constantly updating his skills and has attended numerous courses to ensure that he delivers the very best service to his patients. He prides himself not just on solving the problem but also prevention of recurrence. When Harry is not helping his clients on their way to recovery he is either watching his beloved Arsenal, kicking a ball around recreationally or competitively or enjoying time with his family and friends.
